Age range: 9 – 13. Please note that we will consider admitting participants close to, but outside of this age range subject to a trial period of 2 sessions.

Our open, drop-in classes are for anyone wanting to have fun using movement, creative dance, and drama. We start with an intense physical warm-up based on a variety of contemporary dance techniques, and proceed to exercises that highlight how one’s actions affect others physically and emotionally, addressing issues of friendship, rivalry and leadership. Each class ends with the sharing of the outcome of these exercises and a little discussion of what we have learned.

In our creative workshops this term, we are working on making a film about football, bringing together the worlds of performance and football about which the participants are very passionate. The class is an opportunity to work on improvisation and performance technique, while of course training, getting fit and playing football. Participants will be both in front of and behind the camera. They will devise, direct, act and shoot every scene. There will also be documentation of the process by some of the older participants, in the form of a film about a film.

Class is suitable for participants with all levels of physical ability.
